Summer Woods is a striking musical up-and-comer with a refreshingly colorful approach to the singer/songwriter genre, imbued with her irresistibly quirky way of telling stories and sharing messages of relentless optimism. Hailing from the small suburb of Chino Hills, California, she’s often influenced by the music scene she became a part of thanks to The Los Angeles College of Music, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in music composition.
Summer has opened for José Feliciano, Shawn Colvin, Jim Messina, Howie Day, and various other artists in her genre. She has also had the pleasure of performing for thousands alongside Creed Bratton and Willie Chambers of the Chambers Brothers. Her music received airplay on KLOS 95.5 where she was commended for her song "Pasadena" on Heidi and Frank's Stay or Go show. Fans also love her unique spins on the music of her favorite artists, such as her acoustic, stripped down "Weird Al" Yankovic cover album called Chihuahua Hat. Yankovic himself loved the EP and posted it on his own website. Her album of acoustic Tool covers is also a fan favorite, and her cover of their song “Stinkfist” is still climbing past half a million views on YouTube.
In 2023, she signed a distribution deal with Needlejuice Records, and her new album, Sunshine, I Swear (2025) is currently available on all streaming platforms. The title track is a moving duet featuring Creed Bratton. A second album is currently in the works, and will feature more rock as well as tropical flavors.
Chino Hills, a city in Southern California.
Her earliest memory of creating music was writing lyrics to instrumental video game tracks-- namely, the songs by K.K. Slider in the video game Animal Crossing. In high school, her crush on the musician Beck inspired her creatively, and it turns out that learning and writing songs was something that just came naturally to her and never stopped setting her passions aflame.
She plays piano, guitar, ukulele, and bass at a high level, and can play some rudimentary stuff on drums, harmonica, and accordion. But don't even get her started on the recorder; she's a virtuoso on that thing.
The short answer is no. Learning songs by ear is something that comes naturally to her, so sheet music is not her strong suit. She can read/write it in a pinch if necessary.
No, but she does have relative pitch. She can tell how far apart notes are but usually not whether you're playing a C or an F#.
Yes; not at a fluent level, but she can understand and speak it.
What? What kind of question is that? Are you some kind of weird sex pervert? You should be ashamed of yourself!! She's wearing a pink bathrobe and Dunder-Mifflin pajama pants, if you must know.

”The Joy of Living” by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a fantastic gem of relief, whether you're a Buddist like him or not. The ideas and practices within this book have changed my life more than any drug or therapy session— so much that I have a strong passion to share it with everyone. If you’re struggling with LITERALLY ANYTHING, check out the paperback or audiobook…it might just be a great help.
